Land north of Banwell Road, Elborough

Approximately 270 homes are proposed on the land north of Banwell Road, Elborough along with a 200 sqm retail unit and a 200 sqm community building, with vehicle access from Banwell Road only.

The intention here is for the proposed development parcels to respond to the field and hedgerow patterns of the existing landscape, with additional new green infrastructure – ponds, meadows, woodlands and scattered tree planting – breaking the development down into a finer grain network of streets within a parkland setting.

 

Two vehicle access points are proposed to this development from Banwell Road – one from a re-located Banwell Road / Cedern Avenue roundabout, and another further to the west near Elborough Farm.  Several additional pedestrian / cycle access points are also proposed, including the retention of the existing Public Right of Way through the western part of the site.

 

A 200 sqm retail unit and a 200 sqm community building are also proposed, a short distance to the north of existing homes in Elborough.  These facilities could provide a useful ‘hub’ that Elborough currently lacks, for the benefit of current residents as well as new ones.
