Approximately 145 homes are proposed on the land south of Old Banwell Road, Locking, with vehicle access from Old Banwell Road only.

The majority of these homes would be provided at the eastern end, within the field adjacent to the Old Banwell Road / A371 junction. This land lies on steeper terrain, so in order to address the topography sensitively, we are looking at split-level properties, terraced gardens and landscaped garden walls to help integrate development into the slopes. The opportunity also exists for a smaller number of homes to be provided along Old Banwell Road behind the site frontage. All 145 homes would be accessed from a single new junction on Old Banwell Road at the eastern end of the site, near the A371 junction.
No homes are proposed in the north-western corner of the site, the part closest to existing homes. This would be left as open space. A pedestrian and cycle access would also be provided here, giving Locking residents easy access to the new country park to the south.
